The synovial fluid in human joints is a case of Couple-stress fluid. The bones in human body are lined with articular cartilage separated by a cavity containing synovial fluid. It reduces the friction between bones. The fluid provides nutrients to the cartilage and normal value of synovial fluid in human body is less than 3.5 ml in volume. The fluid is of clear pale yellow colour. The viscosity of fluid forms 4-6 cm long string. It also contains glucose, lactate, protein, uric acid and neutrophils. The present work has been done keeping in mind the old age problems related to joints.
