The title of the book, Stained Sheets, is not making any reference to the assumed slimy stains, but to the stains of life. We are born and swaddled in sheets, and in our end, we are covered in sheets. We tear, bleed, sweat, and occasionally drip a little chocolate on our sheets. These poems are tales of such stains, some of which are autobiographic.

Ahlia Demas, a Southern California writer of poetry, short stories, and scripts is releasing her third poetry collection, Stained Sheets. Her previous poetry collections, Snow Fox and 20 Sunsets, were both done in 1998 as chapbooks, which she included in Stained Sheets, selected poetry from her two previous collections. Her poetry has also appeared in several poetry journals and various poetry anthologies and performed at poetry readings in Southern California. One poem was even printed in the comic book, Tales of the Crypt. Other creative entanglements she enjoys are playing the guitar and painting her VW Beetle.
