Presented research work in this book has been carried out at world's oldest single Dee variable Energy Cylotron (VEC), installed at Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. The classical, 26-inch VEC capable of providing beams of 1H, 2H, 3H and 4He. Since last fifteen years, the facility is extensively being utilized for Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) using proton beam. Recently the facility has been standardized for simultaneous X-ray and backscattered ion analysis of biological samples. The advantages of using coupled ion beam techniques for comprehensive elemental profiling of organometallic samples are unparalleled. So, the standardization will facilitate the interaction of metal ions with metalloproteins studied using concurrent Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) spectroscopy and Proton Elastic Scattering Analysis (PESA). Calibration of the beam dump was done for reliable estimation of the total incident projectile ions.
