This 11-year retrospective study reveals a 13% prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus at Monastir University Hospital, with high resistance to penicillin (96.4%) and methicillin (18.6%). Resistance is increasing for certain antibiotic classes, notably glycopeptides, despite a moderate prevalence of MRSA strains. The results underline the need to reinforce hygiene and optimize antibiotic prescriptions.
