The aim of the study was to isolate, identify and characterise Staphylococcus. aureus obtained from various clinical disorders of human and animals and also from environment and healthy animals. Microbiological examination of 623 samples, which originated 157 from man, 75 from animals, 72 from environment and 144 from apparently healthy animals (from ecological point of view) and 175 from normal animals (to study carriage of organism) was carried out for the prevalence of S. aureus.
