Autorenporträt
Kate has a background in English teaching. This career choice has taken her on many overseas adventures, the last of which could not have been further away from her native England - Australia. She now lives with her family in Melbourne, in a magical place which is home to the mountain ash forests that provide the setting for her story 'Cookie the Croaky Cockatoo'. 'Cookie' is Kate's first picture book. Her inspiration came from the fascinating creatures who live on her doorstep: the screeching cockatoos with their entertaining aerial displays, the pesky possums who crash and bang across her roof at night and the weirdly cute, snuffling echidnas. She hopes young readers will enjoy their antics, as they read 'Cookie', and want to find out more about the Australian bush.
