The book focuses its reflection on the discussion of the processes of citizenship formation in young university students, and particularly on the processes of political participation of university students at the Universidad Autónoma de Manizales, Colombia. One of the aspects that have been pointed out to young people is their disaffection towards politics, manifested in higher electoral abstention rates than adults, a lower affiliation to traditional political parties and their low levels of party identification. In this sense, the issue of youth participation can be considered as a negative topic, which invited the researchers to ask ourselves: How do young people participate today, in order to seek answers not only of a political nature, but also formative, to promote processes of formation of competent and critical citizens in the political world that today takes place not only in Colombia, but throughout the world.
