This project is first to specifically evaluate Cochlear Implant intervention times within an audiology clinic, and the information gained from this study will help generate new knowledge that may reduce the risk of permanent hearing impairment in children. As rates of sensory neural hearing loss are rapidly increasing due to an increase in the number of births nationally, this study is essential to overcoming this problem and understanding how to produce more effective treatment outcomes. The information gained from this study has the potential to help improve treatment outcomes within the audiology field, as well as general healthcare practice within the applicable country.
