A pre-test and post-test experimental study was carried out to study the effect of static and dynamic loading of backpack on cervical and shoulder posture in school going children of age group 10-15 years old. 180 school children of age group 10-15 years old were included in this study according to inclusion criteria. The weight of backpack was 10% of body weight and photographs were taken from right side of the subject in unloaded condition, after 5 minutes standing i.e. static loading of backpack and after 5 minutes walking i.e. dynamic loading of backpack. These postural angles were analyzed by Mb ruler software. The result shows that there is significant effect of static and dynamic loading of backpack on cervical and shoulder posture in school going children of age group - years old. The study concludes that backpack weighing 10% of body weight shows significant changes in cervical and shoulder posture. These changes are more after dynamic activities when compared with static loading and unloaded condition. This implies that backpack weighing 10% of body weight is too heavy to maintain normal cervical and shoulder posture.
