For example, an earlier research in Nigeria indicates that there aboundmisconceptions as to the etiology and transmission of the EVD. It is believed that EVD can be transmitted through hand shaking and hugging while the greater majority believed it can be contacted through toilet seats. This revelation was particularly shocking viewed from the perspective that about 20 years into the EVD epidemic, millions of people knew little about the diseases. Ebola risks causing a rise in morbidity and mortality from diseases not related directly to Ebola itself, given the following combined effects on regular health-care provision.
