Viable research and development programs are impossible without the use of statistics. Thus anyone who wishes to be a researcher should have sufficient statistical skill and knowledge, ranging from descriptive to multivariate statistics. In fact, statistical tools should be used taking into account assumptions for data analysis and use of the correct models, ultimately avoiding wrong conclusion in practical plant research programs. Though statistics helps us to make rational decision, an ambitious and unprofessional use of statistical tools is a fatal to both the scientific community and industry.
