This book is the outcome of an in-depth study of the socio-economic status of woman labourers and various problems faced by them in the rural areas of Punjab (India). Based on the primary data, the study reveals that the woman labourers undertake the work only under economic compulsions. Because of unhygienic living and working conditions, majority of them are suffering from some serious diseases. Besides of this, they face a lot of problems at the workplace and on the domestic front. All this make their situation more miserable. The policy implications of this book will help in improving their economic conditions and solve some of their problems.
