This anthropological research work introduces about the status of rural Female-Headed Households. Female-Headed Households are increasingly becoming common in almost all parts of the world. Households, especially which are headed by women, lack the basic assets that could help them survive through harsh living situations. The burden of poverty falls disproportionately on women and more so on households headed by women. Several factors including social, cultural, economical, political, technological and legal framework of the country are regarded for the impoverishment of Female-Headed Households. However, socio-cultural factors are a prior condition for the disadvantage position of Female-Headed Households in the rural society. There are now some efforts made by governmental and non-governmental organizations to improve the life of rural Female-Headed Households in the region.
