The book is dedicated to the investigation of the status of food hygiene in restaurants in Hargeisa town. The problem of the study was the high prevalence of food borne diseases in Hargeisa. The author focused on the status of personal hygiene, food storage, food preparation and waste management in restaurants in Hargeisa town. Guided by the theory of Planned Behavior Change, the study adopted a cross-sectional survey design on simple random sample of 171 respondents from 57 restaurants. Data was collected using questionnaire and observation methods in April 2017. The study found that there were poor personal hygiene, 2 (3, N = 57) = 42.579, p = .000; poor food storage, 2 (2, N = 57) = 34.105, p = .000; poor food preparation, 2 (2, N = 57) = 26.947, p = .000, and poor waste management, 2 (2, N = 57) = 96.737, p = .000 in the restaurants in Hargeisa town. The study concludes that the status of food hygiene in restaurants in Hargeisa town is generally poor.
