The research revealed that the district is food insecure for six through nine months of a year which is worsened by natural disasters. Sudden and unpredictable precipitation pertaining to climate change has distorted the productions over the years. Drought resistant varieties of crops such as Elusine caracana, Setaria italic (L.), Triticum aestivum, Amaranthus sp have been found to be highly potential cereal crops that need to be promoted with required interventions.
