A field experiment was started in 2018 under All India Co-ordinated Research Project to study the "impact of STCR approach on soil carbon fractions and productivity of clusterbean under clusterbean-wheat cropping system". The experiment were consisted of five treatment combinations: (1) General recommended dose (20 Kg Nitrogen ha-1 32 Kg P2O5 ha-1) (2) Soil test crop response (STCR) recommendation for 15 q ha- 1 of clusterbean yield target (3) STCR recommendation under integrated plant nutrient system for 15 q ha-1 of clusterbean yield target (4 )STCR recommendation for 20 q ha-1 of clusterbean yield target (5) STCR recommendation under integrated plant nutrient system for 20 q ha-1 of clusterbean yield target. The results of the study revealed that STCR recommendation under IPNS for target yield 20 q ha-1 produced significantly higher growth & yield attributes, seed yield, Carbon fractions, Water retention capacity, porosity, Mean weight diameter, Available P & K, Microbial biomass carbon, total N & S, microbial populations and soil enzymes like urease, alkaline phosphatase, dehydrogenase and FDA and decrease the hydraulic conductivity, infiltration rate and bulk density of soil.
