It gathers the majority of papers that advocate utilizing stem cells as the best option for treating, diagnosing, and managing diseases related to urological system. This book covers a broad spectrum of issues, including mesenchymal stem cells, cancer stem cells, organoids, regenerative medicine, erectile dysfunction, bladder dysfunction, and kidney transplant. From several decades ago, as characteristic features of stem cells have been explored, it has attracted a great amount of interests. In view of their multiple capacity of differentiating into various lineages, many studies were conducted to assess their beneficial potential. Despite considerable progress into applying stem cells in animal models, for translating into clinical practices there are several obstacles to be resolved. However, fewclinical studies have been performed in each field and outcomes were delightful. There is an ongoing hope for stem cells to someday, be the mainstream treatments of urological diseases, although stem cells treatments already exist they are not well-known. Indeed, this book is essential for anyone who is working with the purpose of employing stem cells to treat the urological diseases and discusses at length the latest advances as well as their limitations.

Dr. Seyed Aghamir was born on October 1th, 1967 and graduated from Qom Hakim Nezami High School in 1985. He attended Shahid Beheshti University with superior rank of 103 and successfully graduated of General Medicine in 1993 and then went to Tehran university/Sina Hospital of Medical Sciences to become a urology specialist. In 1998 at the Specialized board competition he was the first ranked to the fellowship of Endourology and after one year, he established this field for the first time in 2000 at Sina Hospital.   Over the last 19 years I have trained more than thirty specialists in the field of short-term education in Endourology Fellowship at Tehran University. In 2014, I founded the Endourology sub-course called RIRS (retrograde intra renal surgery) as the pioneer in IRAN. Over last nine years, he has registered three inventions in urology and six are ongoing in the registration process. He has been a specialist examiner and question designer for the Urology residency exam over the last 3 years and have been a teaching professor at Department of Urology (Tehran University of Medical Sciences) for more than three years. He brought the novel student-centered teaching assistantship style. In 2015 he passed a short course in France at the Ténon Hospital under the supervision of Traxon and received certificate in intra-renal surgery. He won the Sina Festival prize in 2015, and he has been responsible for the training of Urology Assistants at first section in Sina Hospital for more than 19 years.  To date, Dr. Aghamir have conducted and published more than 20 PhD specialized dissertations and five Persian-language books. He has published more than 32 research articles in Urology, of which some of them have been registered as a new technique in Urology and have been registered in the "Campbells" text book. At the present time, Dr. Aghamir is the head of the Department of Urology Research Center atthe Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Vice-Chancellor/Vice President of Sina Hospital.
