This book focuses on the treatment of stereotypes in storytelling, and particularly on the roles they play in students' reading comprehension, from cycle 1 to cycle 3. Through an in-depth analysis of their place in the curriculum at all levels, I have found that stereotyping is essential to learning to read. I became interested in traditional tales as well as in diverted tales, inasmuch as there can be no diversion without stereotypes and vice versa. I wanted to show their complementarity both as a genre and as teaching. This book was therefore an opportunity for me to deepen my knowledge on the theme of understanding and to find answers to the questions that teachers might ask themselves about how to deal with stereotypes in stories.
