The topic of this paper is a study of speech behavioral stereotypes of children of primary school age and middle-aged adults. Stereotype is understood as the result of speech automatism, which is explained by the recurrence of everyday situations of communication. Despite the frequency and importance of using stereotypes in the real speech activity of native speakers, so far speech stereotypes have been studied only from the point of view of style and culture of speech. In our work an attempt is made to master them linguistically. Having set a task to consider use of stereotypes in children's speech and in speech of adults with the subsequent comparison of their use by children and adults in speech activity, the authors have tried to solve it by methods of linguistic and psycholinguistic analysis of stereotyped expressions of English-speaking characters of literary works on a material of the English, American and Russian fiction of XIX - XX centuries from positions of modern psycholinguistics.
