Autorenporträt
Frances Smith Foster is Professor of English and women's studies, the former director of the Emory Institute for Women's Studies, and current chair of the English department. Foster has held a Fulbright and a fellowship from the W. E. B. DuBois Institute at Harvard. She has authored or edited fourteen books and numerous articles. Stanlie M. James is Director of the African and African American Studies Program at Arizona State University, where she holds a joint appointment with the women's and gender studies program. A recipient of a Ford Foundation grant and the Susan Koppelman Award, James earned an M.A. and a Ph.D. in international studies at the University of Denver. Beverly Guy-Sheftall is President of the National Women's Studies Association, the founding Director of the Women's Research and Resource Center, and Professor of Women's Studies at Spelman College. She has been involved with the national women's studies movement since its inception and provided leadership for the establishment of the first women's studies major at a historically Black college.
