Still Invisible? is more than a narrative on the challenges facing Black males. After all, everyone recognizes there's a problem, and another book simply highlighting those challenges does very little to address the issues at hand, contribute to meaningful and substantive dialogue or offer reasonable solutions on how to help make America better. What makes this book different from anything else you have ever read, however, is that it provides the reader with the tools and resources they need to factually contextualize the issues facing black men today, while not letting anyone off the hook for the problems we need to overcome--be they self-inflicted wounds or perpetrated by the state.

Autorenporträt
Elvin J. Dowling is a well-respected advocate for vulnerable populations and oppressed people in both in the United States and abroad. The former Chief of Staff for the National Urban League, one of America's largest civil rights organizations, Elvin was a liaison between minorities and other individuals of color--at the highest levels of government--for more than 100 black and Hispanic communities across the country. His unique experiences and uncanny insight into the state of urban America, has enabled him to indirectly serve millions of less fortunate and vulnerable members of society. An acclaimed inspirational speaker, activist and what Les Brown called "America's leading advocate for achieving greatness by embracing change", Elvin's book, License to Live, has been featured on national and international media outlets, including CNN and National Public Radio, has been lauded as "an eye-opening and heart-stirring message that sheds light on the truth that your past does not dictate your future."
