The need for conducting a rootstock evaluation in grape was felt in view of the problems encountered by grape growers. Besides, it was also felt to standardize grafting in grape cultivars on suitable rootstocks under north Indian conditions for possible commercialization in future. The choice of rootstock is governed by the fact that it should be compatible, imparts pest and disease resistance and should not affect adversely the productivity and fruit quality of the scion variety. Hence, present investigation was undertaken on Pusa Urvashi grape, employing different rootstocks.
