Contributions to this new reference will address the following major areas: Survey Methods, Fisheries Statistics, Population Dynamics, Catch Effort Methods, Stock Assessment in Large Lakes, Stock Assessment in Large Rivers, Management of Freshwater Fish Stocks. In addition to the core reports, overview papers will present a summary of our current status of knowledge in each of the major subject areas, and a final chapter will offer an expert appraisal of present and future perspectives in relation to the concept of stock assessment. All contributions will be fully illustrated and referenced. Stock Assessment in Inland Fisheries will become the international, standard reference for all fisheries departments offering a single source of contemporary and definitive information. It is also intended that the book serve as a course text for all studying within the various areas of freshwater fisheries management.
