Lorsqu' Ariel Tachna avait douze ans, elle a découvert deux choses : la langue française et les romans d'amour. Ces deux amours l'ont définie depuis. Au moment où elle terminait le lycée, elle avait écrit quatre romans que personne ne voudrait lire aujourd'hui, mettant en vedette une jeune femme qui était - vous l'aurez deviné - bilingue. Cette fille était tout ce qu'Ariel voulait être à douze ans et qu'elle n'était pas. Elle vit maintenant dans la banlieue de Houston avec son mari (qui parle également français), ses enfants (qui comprennent le français, même lorsqu'ils sont trop paresseux pour le parler) et leurs deux chiens (qui refusent obstinément de répondre aux ordres en français).
