Autorenporträt
Susie Pilkington-Wood was a theatre nurse before retiring in 2016. Her experience of hearing patients tell her that they hovered above the operating table while undergoing surgery fascinated her, and her book Stolen Souls was influenced by these stories. Before that, she managed nursing homes, she taught 'A' level students about lifestyle choices at college and ran a smallholding in France. Susie spent much of her adult life in Weston-Super-Mare, not far from Bristol, where a major part of the story takes place. She uses her expertise as a nurse to authenticate the medical material within the book, and her many varied experiences, to make her story come to life. She has always enjoyed making up tales to entertain first her children and later, her grandchildren, and hopes that this story will leave her audience intrigued, wondering what the sequel will bring.
