This work mainly deals with the storage and its losses of the onion landrace `buchinska arshlama`. It is grown in Pelagonija region in the Republic of Macedonia. The landrace `buchinska arshlama` is traditionally stored in piles covered with foil. The piles are 2-3 m in height, 1-1.5 m in width, and the length depends on the amount. The time for storage is from October to April. Besides the traditional way of storage, the onion landrace in our research has been also stored in a cold room. Losses of physiological and chemical nature have been measured during the storage. As a result, we concluded that the onion landrace `buchinska arshlama` could be successfully stored traditionally from October to early February and continuously in controlled conditions (in a cold room) to April or longer.
