This is an eclectic and very diverse collection of short stories, each in a different voice capturing a moment, a conversation, a surge of memories, real or not, some self-serving lies and hopes of redemption. The reader is invited to share for a short while some fleeting episodes in the lives of various characters, imaginary or real, sometimes both: an over-privileged cat, a young girl who will only consort with middle-aged men, a dreamy adolescent schoolgirl who can't wait to share her potato salad with her future lover and a highly distinguished skeleton who (unwittingly) seduces the lovely wife of an eminent surgeon. Stories in the Wind might enable you to enter other people's lives, their moods and longings, and maybe, discover a little more about your own.
Autorenporträt
The author, a retired North London GP, was born and bred in France (Paris, where else?) shortly before World War II. Having survived the German occupation, she studied Medicine, still in Paris. It was only after this that she met her British husband and came to live in this country for the rest of her life. Paris is still her "village" and she claims to have a foot on each side of the Channel although she has chosen to write mostly in English.
