Diplômée de l'école d'économie domestique de l'université d'Hacettepe, département de la santé et de l'éducation de l'enfant, en 1992, elle a reçu le prix d'encouragement scientifique et le prix de réalisation exceptionnelle. Elle a obtenu sa maîtrise en 1995 et son doctorat en 2004 du programme de développement et d'éducation de l'enfant de l'institut des sciences de la santé de l'université d'Hacettepe.
