ALEXANDER A. LAWRENCE (1906-79) was a district judge for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia and a historian of Georgia Civil War history. JIM PIECUCH is an associate professor of history at Kennesaw State University. He is author of several books, including Three Peoples, One King: Loyalists, Indians, and Salves in the Revolutionary South, 1775-1782 and General Nathanael Greene and the American Revolution in the South.
