Lü Peng is an authoritative art historian, historiographer, critic and curator. Born in 1956 in Chongqing, he was an associate professor at his alma mater, the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, in Hangzhou. He is currently a professor at Macau University of Science and Technology and the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. He is also director of the artistic committee of the Chengdu Museum of Contemporary Art
