I specialise in creating new mixed media paintings and my passion is depicting Namibian urban and rural settlement images. Depict emotional landscapes of the people living in my community, through the use of found and natural objects in the surroundings around the community in two-dimensional formats. This process involves engaging with the people and the physical space to establish the type of materials that would represent the feeling of the community. In Windhoek, my hometown, I share in the living conditions of my community and specifically express the collective sense of impoverishment by members living in this locations. Natural materials such as grass, sand, stone and sticks in combination with discarded plastic containers, tin cans and carton boxes, shape and form the work. PVA paints that are usually used for painting houses in building constructions are now used to create the emotional sense in the painting and aid in understanding the work emotionally. The miniature houses on a small scale are in direct correlation to the actual Shanty houses typical of the area and indicative of the living standards of the community.
