At the start of the Easter school holidays, Alex wants nothing more than to forget the world, grab his skateboard and head to the park - and maybe stuff his face with Easter eggs. These plans are put on hold, however, when Alex is forced into looking after Vinnie, a German shepherd owned by his Auntie Elsie and her gruff, shady 'gentleman friend' Ron. There's just one problem with this: Alex is terrified of Vinnie and being eaten by a hellhound was not on his list of things to do today. Whilst his Aunt Elsie goes off to raise funds to save the soon-to-be-demolished community centre, Alex hopes that his own house won't be the next victim in a series of local burglaries, tries to navigate the social space between his school bully and his school crush, help his tech-whizz friend try out his new dog-translation app, and that's all before he gets a call from Ron, telling him to bring a suspicious bag with tools, torch and ski mask to a residential street straight away ... It is going to be a very long day for Alex.
Autorenporträt
Geoff Meadows has spent all of his working life doing a responsible job, running his Company and managing projects for his customers. He has no writing experience, no literary awards, no back catalogue of books to list. Throughout his working life he always had a timetable to work to, a team to work with, a customer to work for. He always wanted to create something on his own, but he cannot, draw, paint, sing or play a guitar and lacks any semblance of DIY skills. So writing was the only option. If no one reads this, he has no one else to blame, except his dog, she usually gets the blame for everything anyway. Geoff writes under the name of Geoff Meadows as that is his name. He lives in Maidenhead with his youngest son, the annoying dog and some fish. He likes cars, motorbikes, music and laughter. Lots of other stuff too.
