Faye Longchamp and husband Joe Wolf Mantooth have founded an archaeological consulting firm, and a couple who own an historic home in St. Augustine, Florida, provide the firm's first big project. Within a day of their arrival at Dunkirk Manor, a lovely young employee disappears, leaving behind a smear of blood in her car and a collection of priceless arti-facts. Two days later, the missing woman's boyfriend is found dead, his throat slashed. The detective in charge believes that the artifacts are key to the crime and hires Faye to track down their origin. Faye and Joe find artifacts at the site dating from every era of St. Augustine history. Then comes the most stunning discovery of all: the diary of a priest who left Spain in 1565 and was present at the city's birth.... Mary Anna Evans lives in Florida. When she's not writing her novels, she works with teachers to develop ways to use popular fiction to teach math, science, and history to kids. www.maryannaevans.com
