The world tourism has come to the forefront as a foreign exchange earner for many countries irrespective of whether they fall under the developed category or otherwise. However, there is a noticeable difference between the tourism country competitiveness of developed and developing nations. Under such circumstances, this book is intended to bring insights from two countries that are actively engaged in tourism. The two countries are lying on two ends of the economic development spectrum, while also having vast differences in the inherited and natural resources. Surprisingly, Singapore with less natural and cultural resources have achieved a remarkable success as a tourist destination while Sri Lanka with all its rich culture, historical artifacts and abundance of natural resources is still left behind in the race of country competitiveness. The journey through the pages of this book will guide the readers on revelations related to tourism from four different research studies conducted during 2016 to 2018 in Singapore and Sri Lanka. The findings of these studies and the learning therein can be used as a base and guideline to craft effective strategies to drive tourism in any nation.
