Wetlands in Uganda contribute to unquantifiable socioeconomic, ecological (environmental), and political benefits and yet, according to statistics from the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Uganda's wetland coverage has reduced from 15.5 percent in 1994 to about 13 percent today. The book uses data to explain the key factors that contribute to wetlands degradation with a focus on information communication gaps leading to a lack of awareness, knowledge, and practice for sustainable environmental conservation.
