As economic developments and the actions of competitors affect the ability of any business enterprise to perform successfully, it is necessary to preface the evaluation of a firm's financial statements with an analysis of the environment in which the business operates. There are two approaches in the literature, during environmental analysis: Porter's approach to industry analysis and SPACE matrix (The Strategic Position and Action Evaluation Matrix), both are applied in this book.
