Dietary supplementation of plantain (Plantago lanceolata L.) and garlic leaf (Allium sativum) alone or together with total mixed pelleted ration boosted sheep performance. These supplements improved 18-26% daily gain, 3-15% immunity, and 3-11% serum antioxidants level. They also helped to reduce blood cholesterol, caul fat, and pelvic fat content as well as to modify the mutton fatty acid profile by improving polyunsaturated fatty acid. Besides, these supplements improved liver activity by 2-26%. So, it could be concluded that the supplementation of plantain, garlic leaf, and mixer of these herbs might be used in sheep diet for improved health, productivity, and value-added mutton production.
