The monograph identifies the types of psychological barriers that arise during the listening comprehension of foreign language speech. The ideas about the determinants of barriers at different stages of listening comprehension are extended and the author's strategies of overcoming psychological barriers are presented. The variants of teaching listening comprehension of foreign language speech are shown. The suggested strategies of overcoming the barriers are actual without using any technical means and can be used in every practical lesson of the foreign language regardless of the taught aspect. This work can serve as a basis for effective teacher-student interaction in the process of learning a foreign language.
