The phenomenal growth of street-based enterprises in spite of formidable constraints is an appeal to the important role which these enterprises continue to play in the fast growing urban sector in developed and developing countries.However, the performance of street-based enterprises is little known and these category of enterprises continue to be marginalized leading to a situation of increasing misery for the participants. measures should therefore be undertaken by stakeholders to mainstream street-based enterprises in the Kenyan economy.

Dr. Bernard Nassiuma was born in 1961. He holds a Bachelor of commerce degree,a master of philosophy in entrepreneurship, Moi University and a PhD in entrepreneurship development from Kenyatta University. He has a wealth of experience in new venture creation and management. He is currently a lecturer of entrepreneurship at Moi University Eldoret.
