Concrete is the most widely used construction material because of its mould ability into any required structural form and shape due to its fluid behaviour at early ages. Through compaction using vibration is normally essential for achieving workability, the required strength and durability of concrete. Inadequate compaction of concrete results in large number of voids. Affecting strength and long term durability of structures, self compacting concrete (SCC) provides a solution to these problems. And it is able to compact itself without any additional vibration. In this concrete, cement replacement with some material like flyash, metakaolin, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) etc. because to reduce 5-7% of CO2 emissions in cement and due to the curing of concrete large amount of water is required. To overcome the high demand of water it is needed to study self-curing concrete. The use of self curing compounds is increasing in the context of widespread use of self-compacting concrete owing to its superior performance in both fresh and hardened states.
