The delivery of medical education in India is undergoing a paradigm shift over the last few years. We must realize that the role of medical teachers' is quite essential in ensuring that all the proposed educational reforms are implemented in the best possible way. This calls for the need to organize periodic faculty development programs to empower the medical teachers to discharge their roles effectively. The Medical Education Unit of the institution plays an indispensable role in capacity building and they have to be supported by the administrators to eventually aid the teachers to become change agents.
