Is your leadership style inclusive? Do you look outside your comfort zone for additional resources? How bias are you to change? While the face of leadership continues to change and more African American women begin to take the lead organizations must reevaluate its current culture and set in motion a more relational approach. The study shows a series of bias or unaddressed approaches to stressors placed upon African American Women in the workplace. It is critical that organizations understand the need for healthier work environments. As leaders of organizations it is important to take a holistic approach by embracing the growing diversity within the workforce. Therefore a paradigm shift from the traditional style of leading to a more relational style of leadership is vital. Being aware of your present leadership style and your employee's concerns and needs is an initial step toward creating a significant paradigm shift in the workplace. This will allow organizations the ability to tap into a wealth of energy and resources to create positive, healthy working relationships.
