David A. Fanella, Ph.D., S.E., P.E., F.ASCE, F.SEI, F.ACI, is Senior Director of Engineering at the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI). He has 30 years of experience in the design of a wide variety of buildings and other structures and is a member of ASCE/SEI 7 and numerous American Concrete Institute (ACI) committees. Dr. Fanella has written many technical publications and recently authored the Second Edition of Reinforced Concrete Structures: Analysis and Design, published by McGraw-Hill Education.
