The work is devoted to the study of the structural organization of the conceptual field of oppositeness on the example of its realization in the fiction texts of French writers of the twentieth century. The monograph describes systemic oppositional relations in the structure of literary texts; the man, his appearance, character and relations with his surroundings by means of oppositional nominations is represented; the procedure of conceptual analysis of oppositeness is elaborated. The conceptual analysis of oppositional relations characterizing a person in his interaction with the surrounding world and people in the modern language allows to identify the universal and specific in the structure of a fiction text. The oppositional relations demonstrate the typological identity of knowledge underlying this type of nominations. Oppositivity is represented in the analyzed texts by a set of four types of relations: contrariety, contradictoriness, conversion and contrastivity. The workis addressed to the readers interested in the problems of cognitive research of individual lexical-semantic groups and the issues of national specificity of language pictures of the world.
