Mother nature can modulate ribosomally synthesized peptides and proteins through various enzymatic processes which is very important for the survival of life. Scientists usually try to mimic natural processes. So, the structural transformation of peptides and proteins is one of our great concerns. Structural transformation, the large-scale transfer of the secondary structure of a protein or peptide to another secondary structure is highly important for many human diseases including Alzheimer's disease, Perkinson disease, etc. Hence the modulation of the peptide or protein secondary structures may have the potential for inhibition and treatment of these misfolding-related diseases. In this book, the transformation of the secondary structure of peptides by chemical process will be discussed in detail. How minor chemical modulation of a peptide molecule will give rise to major structural change, that will be shown.
