Paul Trune has never been able to figure things out. Doing too much of everything seems to be the only way for him to keep from wondering how much and of what, to do. Drinking, worrying, overanalyzing; bumping in and out of life at intervals determined by forces just beyond his grasp. This is a novel about how the things we've done make us and what we're made of informs how we carry on. Whether we know it or not. Set in Los Angeles- Koreatown (where Paul lives), he wanders the sidewalks, holes up for days in his apartment and careens madly through the streets behind the wheel of a delivery vehicle, looking for something. Looking and finding and loosing and looking some more. The first novel by Morgan Drolet lets loose with new, borrowed and blue-a voice seeking truth, in itself and elsewhere.
Autorenporträt
Living and working at art in Los Angeles. Was once moderately devoted to gymnastics. Then wholly devoted to alcoholism. Is now daily amazed at the world he was so sure was one way but found out is more a lot of different ways that are mostly the same. Is interested in the human experience as well as all the experiences of all the things. Would like to spend the day as a grain of sand. Wonders if he already is.
