The purposes of this study are to determine the levels of students' learning motivation and to compare the student's learning motivation according to their gender and grade. The research conducted to a total of 139 students from grade 10 and 11 as the target group. The study used a questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard deviation and independent samples t-test. This is the first research paper in Laiza high school. It will give knowledge and information to school leaders, teachers and future researcher about how motivation is prominent in students' learning in school.

Nang Htang was vice president (academic) in Maija Yang at Maija Yang Institute of Education. The author devoted 14 years for Education only. The location is in Myanmar-China border. It is a remote area in Kachin state, Myanmar. This research was conducted in Kachin state at Laiza High School on Motivation to learn in school in 2014.
