This book examines the effect of standards-based instruction on school attendance rates for students with disabilities. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has 500 public school districts. The Pennsylvania Department of Education designated the districts into the categories of urban, suburban and rural. This study examines differences between pre-existing populations of students with disabilities' attendance rates for each district in Pennsylvania. Dr. Siegler earned her Doctorate of Education and M.S. Ed from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Lywinda holds a B.S. Degree in Education of Exceptional Children and Elementary Education from Penn State. She has worked with students with disabilities as a teacher, school psychologist, special ed and curriculum administrator.
