Ian Richard Netton, Ph.D. (1976) in Arabic and Islamic Studies, University of Exeter, UK, has published extensively in the fields of Islamic philosophy and theology. He is the author or editor of eleven other books, and is Professor of Arabic Studies at the University of Leeds.
