As the present research work pertains to adsorption and biodegradation studies of p-cresol containing wastewaters in batch systems, it is desirable that continuous column studies may be planned for adsorption of p-cresol on PAC. Besides, biodegradation studies in continuous systems such as fixed or fluidized bed reactors may be conducted. In this research work, basic constitutive relationships such as adsorption isotherms for adsorption studies and kinetics of degradation of p-cresol by Gliomastix indicus for biodegradation studies have been obtained. Therefore, it is suggested that the modeling and simulation of continuous adsorption column, and fixed or fluidized bed reactors for biodegradation may be performed. Experimental results obtained in recommendation (i) may be utilized to validate the developed models. In this research work, adsorption and biodegradation of p-cresol containing wastewater have separately been done. However, for increasing the efficiency of separation itis suggested that studies on bioactive carbon (BAC), where G. indicus shall be immobilized on PAC, for removal of p-cresol may be conducted.
